I started cooking for a crowd at fourteen, when my dad asked me to make dinner for ten business clients. I did, and I loved every minute.
Since then, I’ve fed holiday tables, houses full of guests, and dove-hunt weekends with fifty to a hundred people. I’ve learned how much a good plan matters, why a stocked freezer is an insurance policy on hospitality, and how food can make people feel cared for before anyone says a word.
I’m from Remington, Indiana, and now live on a farm in Waynetown with my husband, Shad, and our two kids. Faith, family, and the land shape how I live, and hospitality is where I put all three to work. This site is where all of those parts meet.
Whether I’m gathering family recipes, setting a table for a houseful, or helping a family make decisions about farmland, I keep coming back to what matters: care for what has been entrusted to you, use it well, and leave something worth carrying forward.

That is how it worked at Grandma Ethel’s table. No matter how many people were already seated, five more could walk through the door and find plenty to eat.
It is still a pretty good way to think about food, family, work, and life.
